Harrisburg, PA -In continuing efforts to keep Pennsylvania families safe, the Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association is highlighting the ‘Power Outage’ consumer safety module available at

This easy-to-use online tool will walk you and your family through important steps to take before and during a power outage this winter. Some examples of these tips include:

  • Never use a power source or inspect an appliance while standing in water
  • Never use a portable generator in an enclosed area, such as a basement, garage or tent
  • Know how and where to turn off your Propane

PAPGA recommends that homeowners schedule a time for a qualified service technician to perform a complete inspection after power returns. This service would include a leak test and re-lighting pilot lights. To find a professional in your neighborhood, log on to
