Registration
Register and pay by credit card online at our website, www.papropane.com. Companies that register online will have their registration forms processed first. Please check online at www.papropane.com to see if a course is full if you plan to mail your registration form.

Fees
Course fees include the instructor fees, training facility, student manuals and lunch. Due to varying company policies, the testing fee is a separate charge and not included in course fees that require certification
All other expenses; including lodging, are the responsibility of the attendee.

Cancellation Policy
A $20 nonrefundable processing fee is in effect, as well as a sliding scale of refund percentages as follows: 16 to 30 days notification – 50% refund; less than 16 days notification – no refund. Substitution may be possible. PAPGA reserves the right of refusal.

Class Size
- A minimum of ten students for each course is required in order to avoid cancellation of a class.
- Classes are limited to five attendees per company location.
- Most courses are limited to 20 students.

Additional Books Required
NFPA 58 2008 edition is a requirement for Basic Principles & Practices, all delivery courses, Plant Operations, and Distribution Systems.
NFPA 54 2006 edition is a requirement for Gas Check, Distribution Systems, Appliance Installation and Appliance Service.
Pamphlets C-6 and C-6.3 is a requirement for Cylinder Requalification and will be provided at class.
Students may bring NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 to class or they can be bought online when registering for a class.
When PAPGA receives and processes your registration form, you will be sent a confirmation letter. Please read it thoroughly as it contains important information about the class. Directions to the training site and hotels are also included. If you do not receive a letter two weeks after registering, please call the association office at 717-441-6040.

CETP Course Descriptions
Basic Principles & Practices
This is an “entry level” course that provides instruction about propane’s physical and combustion properties, how propane is produced and transported, the organizations that influence, publish or enforce codes and standards, how basic functions are performed in a bulk plant, primary safety concerns, and customer service. It also provides company employees with valuable insights and understanding of the tasks performed by other employees and some of the challenges they face in day-to-day situations.
Basic Principles & Practices is a prerequisite for all CETP courses that are being offered.
Combined Delivery Course
This course includes Delivery Basics - 2.1, Bobtail Delivery - 2.2, and Cylinder Vehicle Delivery - 2.4
Delivery Basics - Provides general information applicable to all drivers of cargo tank motor vehicles used to deliver propane. The course includes DOT driver qualifications, personal protective equipment, CMT pre-trip inspections. Also included is verifying placarding, marking and inspections, flammable and combustible liquids, verifying the presence of odorant, handling CMV accidents, breakdowns and emergencies, parking/garaging of vehicles.
Bobtail Delivery - Identifies bobtail equipment and operating procedures, pre-unloading inspections, bulk plant loading/unloading systems and procedures. It includes walk-around inspection of CTMV, purging propane containers prior to transferring product, handling outof-gas calls and piping leak checks, evacuating ASME tanks, post-trip inspections, required monthly inspections, bobtail loading via compressor or auxiliary inlet.
Cylinder Vehicle Delivery - Identifies features of cylinder delivery vehicles, preparing cylinders for storage and transportation, inspecting, evacuating and flaring cylinders, replacing valves and fittings on cylinders, requalifying cylinders, operating a dispenser, identifying DOT marking/labeling requirements, transporting DOT cylinders, operating a dispenser to fill vehicle-mounted ASME tanks. It includes driving techniques, examining customer cylinders & installations, handling out-of-gas calls and leak checking piping systems, DOT exchange and motor fuel cylinder cabinet installation requirements, performing post-trip inspections.
Plant Operations
Book 3.1 Maintaining ASME Tanks - including PPE, combustible liquids, ammonia contamination, purging/evacuating, flaring, replacing valves/fittings, corrosion protection, protective coatings. Book 3.2 Maintaining DOT Cylinders - examining, evacuating, purging cylinders, replacing valves/fittings, requalification, preparing for scrap. Book 3.3 Operating Dispensing Equipment to Fill Containers - by weight or volume, preparing cylinders for transportation, filling vehicle mounted ASME tanks. Book 3.4 Maintaining Bulk Plant Equipment. All of the above books are enclosed in one binder.
Distribution Systems
Book 4.1 Layout, Design, and Selection of a Vapor Distribution System. Using architectural and construction drawings, determining system load and customer demand. Designing DOT aboveground ASME and underground ASME installations. Determining proper corrosion protection for tanks/piping, selecting regulators, piping tubing, vapor meters, estimating job costs. Book 4.2 Preparing and Installing Vapor Distribution Systems Preparing tanks and cylinders for transporting. Locating underground utilities and services, preparing foundations, installing DOT aboveground ASME and underground ASME containers, manifolding, installing PE tubing and fittings, installing regulators, copper tubing, steel piping and corrugated stainless steel tubing. Performing pressure tests on gas distribution lines, installing vapor meters, purging gas distribution lines, performing leak checks. Placing appliances into service, documenting and record keeping, communicating safety information to customers.
Appliance Installation
Focuses on placing propane-burning appliances into service, including principles of venting and ventilation; principles of combustion and make-up air; pressure testing and leak-checking piping systems; sizing; and installing venting systems.
Successful completion of Appliance Installation is a prerequisite to taking Appliance Service
Appliance Service
Emphasizes troubleshooting skills basic to electrical circuits/systems and controls that are incorporated into modern propane appliances. Students are taught to read and understand electrical schematics, as well as how to use various electrical testing devices.

Gas Check Inspection
A step-by-step program for inspecting residential propane installation. Both consumers and marketers benefit from this important safety program through increased employee morale, improved customer service and satisfaction, and the ability to target priority installations for comprehensive upgrades. The course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to complete a gas check on a residential system.
Cylinder Requalification
The class will cover CGA pamphlets C-6 and C-6.3 to provide a stepby-step process for requalifying a cylinder. Student will be shown how to take measurements and calculate formulas required during the inspection process.
